1. Hong Kong Tatler Ball 2018

Despite the impending arrival of super typhoon Mangkhut, the highly anticipated Hong Kong Tatler Ball kicked off the city’s social season in style with a celebration of prominent figures of society. VIP guests, including Cathy Lee, Peter and Bessie Woo, Yuri and Julia Milner, Tung Chee-chen and Harriet Tung, Ronald and Johanna Arculli and Timothy Fok walked the red carpet into the future—to the year 2118, to be precise.

2. Generation T Party 2018

Guests arrived with style to spare at the launch party for the Generation T List 2018, held at The Murray. Those in attendance included Tatler Tribe members Kent Ho, Emily Lam-Ho and Peter Cheung. They joined 2016 and 2017 Generation T listers—including Ruth Chao, Veronica Lam and René Chu—in celebrating the launch of this year's list.

3. T.Dining Best Restaurants Awards 2019

Take a look at the action inside the 6th annual T.Dining Best Restaurants Awards, sponsored by Asia Miles, V-ZUG, Laurent-Perrier and the brand-new Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel. With more than 600 guests in attendance, the ballroom was buzzing with chefs, restaurateurs, mixologists, influencers and F&B industry professionals gathering to celebrate the achievements of those in the dining business.

The T.Dining team unveiled the latest edition of the annual dining guide, including the updated list of Top 20 Best Restaurants, and announced the recipients of the Best Of The Year Awards to a packed room.

4. Hong Kong Ballet Ball 2018

The Gatsby Christmas Soiree was the theme of the Hong Kong Ballet Ball, for which the Grand Hyatt’s ballroom was transformed to recall a speakeasy in the US during the Roaring Twenties. The theme tied in with the dance company’s forthcoming production, The Great Gatsby, artistic director Septime Webre’s reimagining of F Scott Fitzgerald’s tale of abundant wealth, excess and dark obsession.

The evening started with cocktails in the foyer, which was busy with revellers glittering in lavishly embellished ensembles, Anne Wang-Liu, Mira Yeh and Eleanor Lam among them.

5. AMFAR Hong Kong 2018

Michelle Yeoh, Liam Hemsworth and Kylie Minogue on the guest list, the fourth edition of the annual amFAR gala raised almost US$3.5 million for the organisation's life-saving AIDS research programmes.

The star-studded crowd gathered to honour world-renowned artist Brian Donnelly, better known as KAWS and philanthropist Cathy Lee for their commitment to the fight against AIDS and the stigmas around it.

6. K11 Emerald City Opening And Private Dinner

K11 Art Foundation presents Emerald City, a group exhibition that highlights the connectivity of universal knowledge through space. The exhibition's opening reception saw an attendance of over 1,200 guests including a number of notable international figures and celebrities.

7. The Changing Young Lives Gala Dinner 2018

The Changing Young Lives Foundation (CYLF) 2018 charity gala took place at the Conrad Hotel, hosted by co-chairs Jane Chao-Lee, Yvette Ho, Thomas Ho and Angie Ting.

With a “Prom Night” theme, over 350 distinguished guests, including Michelle and Christopher Chan, Eleanor Wong and Sally Leung, made their way into the grand ballroom to enjoy the evening that was supported by the title sponsor Fancl.

8. Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong Gala Dinner

A Luminous Journey was the theme of the Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong’s (ACCHK) inaugural gala dinner, which was held at The Qube at PMQ and which toasted their 30th anniversary. 

A high point of the evening was the presentation of the renowned Blanchette Hooker Rockefeller Award, which was awarded to Hans Michael Jebsen, for his continuous support and contributions to the ACCHK’s efforts over the years.

9. The First Initiative Foundation's Art Of Music Dinner And Recital

In keeping with the First Initiative Foundation’s focus on community outreach, heritage conservation and cultural enhancement, family and friends of Michelle Ong gathered at newly opened restaurant, The Chinese Library, in Tai Kwun for an intimate dinner that toasted Milan’s Brera Picture Gallery and renowned pianist Clive Britton. Peter Lam, Timothy Fok and Michael Tien were just a few of the familiar faces in the crowd.

10. Peter Cheung’s Birthday Dinner And Anniversary Party

It was a night of song and dance—and no party with Peter Cheung would be complete without a rendition of Barry Manilow’s Copacabana and a lip-sync, choreographed performance of Madonna’s Vogue. He did both, and of course they were high points of the night.

More than 350 of Peter’s friends from around the world, including Bonnae Gokson, Candice Suen-Sieber and Yuda Chan, gathered at the Grand Hyatt for his 50th birthday celebrations, which coincided with the third anniversary of his strategic consultancy, Peter Cheung Asia.
