We speak to the fashionista who has a love for anything luxurious

As a child, Calvin Wang wanted to be an astronaut so he could discover new frontiers. It seems the nature of those frontiers has changed—from outer space to high fashion—but his gung-ho spirit remains. As a buyer of handbags and shoes for Lane Crawford’s Greater China stores, Calvin is forced to wear different hats (both figuratively and literally—he’s rarely seen without one). “People think I just shop for a living, but there’s also a lot of number-crunching, spreadsheets, presentations and logistics.” Thankfully, as a graduate of the University of Southern California with a major in finance, he should have no problem when it comes to balancing his budgets. Calvin sees fashion as wearable art. “I love to see romance in design and visions being realised,” he says. With a keen eye for all things beautiful, it’s little surprise that Calvin is a photographer in his spare time, documenting his travels via his popular Instagram account.
