Grace Kelly's Granddaughter Wears Giambattista Valli For Second Wedding
Monaco’s Charlotte Casiraghi and Dimitri Rassam tied the knot in a low-key civil ceremony in June. For their second wedding on Saturday, the couple opted for a more ornate celebration at the Abbaye Sainte-Marie de Pierredon just outside of Provence, France.
In both ceremonies, Casiraghi paid homage to her royal roots. At their first nuptials, the bride honoured her grandmother, Princess Grace Kelly, by wearing the same Cartier necklace that Prince Rainier gifted to the former Hollywood Actress.
For Casiraghi’s second wedding, her Giambattista Valli Couture dress drew inspiration from her mother, Princess Caroline. The gown’s long sleeves and semi-sheer design mirrors the sweeping frock Caroline wore at her 1978 wedding.
Rassam, a French film producer, sported an-off white suit that complemented his bride’s romantic gown. Princess Casiraghi’s uncle, Prince Albert, Princess Caroline and the bride’s three siblings were in attendance, along with the groom’s mother, French actress Carole Bouquet.
The happy couple has been together since December 2016, reports People, and they got engaged in March 2018. Seven months later, they welcomed their son, Balthazar.
Casiraghi made a heartfelt decision to hold her religious wedding in Provence. Caroline moved her children there soon after her husband’s death when Casiraghi was four years old. The bride’s guests arrived at the venue, a mountainside winery and chapel, in coaches through a tranquil route that showcased the town’s picturesque landscape.
“It is this particular love of Provence she wants to share with her family and friends,” a source told People.
