How did we celebrate? Who was the surprise guest speaker? And most importantly, how did we reveal the Generation T List 2018? Here's everything you need to know

1. John Wood's inspirational speech

Our surprise speaker John Wood had the room's full attention during his impactful keynote. The Room to Read founder discussed how his organisation has changed the lives of over 12.4 million children in 15 countries through the empowering effect of education.

Wood also spoke of the importance of placing social purpose at the very centre of your business model—that purpose isn't antithetical profit but can in fact be your competitive advantage. The topic is the subject of Wood's latest book, Purpose, Incorporated.

Hong Kong Tatler purchased a copy of the book for every lister, with all proceeds going to Room to Read, and committed to sponsoring 50 children to learn to read and write for a year through the charity—one for every 2018 Generation T lister. In addition, Hong Kong Tatler's chief content officer and managing director Sean Fitzpatrick announced the intent to build a Generation T library through Room to Read. You can contribute to the campaign through our donation page

The Swiss watchmaker—which supported Friday night's dinner at The Murray, along with Theory—is known for its dedication to quality, an entrepreneurial spirit and a dash of rebelliousness. During the dinner,  H. Moser CEO Edouard Meylan presented its "Pioneer Award" to Generaton T lister Timothy Yu, founder of education app Snapask. In his speech, Meylan said that Yu was selected from all the exceptional people on this year's list as they believe he embodies the spirit of H. Moser.

It was top-shelf and nothing else at Popinjays, the stunning rooftop bar at The Murray that hosted the Generation T afterparty. Guests enjoyed champagne by Laurent-Perrier and whisky by Hibiki. Plus, 2016 Generation T lister Victoria Chow of The Woods used Roku Gin to create an exclusive cocktail for the evening—the Gin.T.
