WHO: Janice Chan-Choy, co-chair of the Hong Kong Ballet Ball Gala Committee, mother of one.

GO-TO DESIGNERS: With a collection ranging from Hermès and Oscar de la Renta to Sacai, Janice says she isn’t bound by labels. “Honestly, when people ask me who I’m wearing I have no clue. I just buy what I like the look of.”

NEED FOR TWEED: “I collect gowns and jackets. I love jackets that are tailored with quality craftsmanship and with juxtaposing patterns and details,” she says as we note racks holding at least 30 tweed jackets in her dressing room. Her go-to designers for tweed jackets are Chanel, Lanvin and Giambattista Valli.

LEGS FOR DAYS: “I think people would be surprised to find miniskirts in my closet,” Janice says. “I used to love them, but I don’t wear them anymore and I can’t let go of them.”

TURN IT UP: Janice always makes a statement and is often seen in voluminous gowns by Vera Wang, Donna Karan and Christian Dior.

HIGHLIGHT FROM THE SHOOT: Anyone invited to Janice’s house never leaves hungry. She prepared a big spread for us for afternoon tea—freshly baked scones, cut fruit, Sift cupcakes, Sevva cakes...
