Mario Ho is one of billionaire casino tycoon Stanley Ho's 17 children. His mother is Angela Leong, co-chairman and an executive director of SJM Holdings. A graduate of the MIT Sloan School of Management, the 24-year-old heir currently serves as the CEO of Tiancai, a Hong Kong-based software development platform.

Mario's now-fiancé, Ming Xi, is a 30-year-old US-based Chinese supermodel, who walked the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show runway from 2013 to 2018. The two started dating after being paired on a Chinese dating reality show in 2017.

Mario decorated three levels of Shanghai's L'Avenue Mall, owned by his mother, with 99,999 roses and invited over 1,000 family and friends to witness the fairy-tale proposal. The son of Stanley Ho went down on one knee and asked Ming Xi, "Do you remember that night in Macau, you asked if we would be together? Today, the question has changed to: ‘Little Ming, do you think we'll always be together?'"

The engagment is said to be prompted by Ming Xi's rumoured pregnancy, which would triple the happiness as Mario's older sister, Sabrina Ho, is also expecting a baby.
