Asia’s coveted international indoor show jumping event returns with a plethora of sports performances, modern art, gastronomy and entertainment

Heralded as one of the biggest social and sporting events in Hong Kong, the Longines Hong Kong Masters 2016 returns to AsiaWorld-Expo Convention Centre for its fourth year.

A top-notch sports event

Joined by the elite of show-jumping from worldwide, the esteemed sports event will be the playground of the best riders and their horses, competing in the CSI 5 classes, striving to become the sought-after victors in the competitions.

Highlights of the three-day event include “Races of the Riders”, where Hong Kong’s best jockeys will challenge the world’s elite show jumpers; “Longines Speed Challenge”, crowning the fastest rider competing in the event.

The most important event will take place on the final day, in which the rider that completes the fastest time with the least amount of penalties will be declared the winner of the “Longines Grand Prix”.

A major new addition to the competition will be the Shanghai Tang Polo Cup, which will be the first time that polo is played in Hong Kong for more than 30 years.

A stylish highlight on Hong Kong’s social calendar

To kickstart the competition on February 19, the organiser will join forces with Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Despite being known for its renowned sporting actions, the event also serves as a chic highlight on Hong Kong’s social calendar. The elegant ‘Prestige Village’ is a space where guests can revel at exquisite riding apparel, modern art and fashion boutiques, as they indulge in champagne and quality canapés.

As an occasion to see and to be seen, the event will also see Hong Kong’s high-society dining at the VIP Masters Club featuring culinary arts by renowned Belgian chef Yves Mattagne. With a decadent three-course menu featuring premium delicacies such as caviar, lobsters and truffle, diners can please their palates whilst enjoying the actions of the competition with a birds-eye view.
