She’s put many noses out of joint with her habit of following and unfollowing people on Instagram and then, when it comes to face-to-face encounters, acting as if nothing has happened. Her game may be to gain followers, but she’s becoming unpopular among her peers in the process.

Regular guests at this well-established gala, one of the most anticipated each year, were surprised at the makeup of the crowd, which was considerably different from usual. We’re all up for meeting new people but the relaxing of the guest list criteria for this usually A-list party is likely to ruffle more than a few feathers.

Handle with care

Guests at a recent dinner were puzzled when a person who has been instrumental in fundraising for the cause for years failed to attend. The absentee was not out of town, as many had been led to believe. It turns out the person had been on the receiving end of a late-night tirade from one of the charity’s members.
