It’s a wrap

The wrap dress has been a staple piece this year—it’s quick to put on and easy to style, and no one does a wrap dress like Diane Von Furstenberg. After all, her name has been synonymous with her iconic wrap dresses for almost two generations of women.

"It was so effortless, and it allowed women to go to work and still feel like women," she explains. The flattering and feminine '70s cult item is the perfect balance of dressed up and comfortable, and is a go-to piece for influential women including Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton.

Polka dot it

Reformation’s slinky Finley dress makes a fitting contribution to arguably the most popular trend of 2018: polka dots, they have gone from the runways to the streets. Think back to Jacquemus’ epochal SS18 show, where models floated down the runway in elegant polka dotted garments and his momentous La Bomba chapeaus.

Other designers have also jumped on board with this trend. Balenciaga, Jason Wu and Carolina Herrera all embraced polka dots in recent collections, while Instagram stars like Aimee Song and models like Gigi Hadid have been embraced the trend with pride.

Romantic ruffles

Who says you can’t have fun with layers in the summer? These light and airy frills give a modern romantic feel thanks to feminine details; all while accentuating the figure, speaking and making volumes.

These decorative elements bring fun into glamour, as seen in Phillip Lim and Mulberry’s SS18 collections. If—like us—you love a pop of colour and a memorable silhouette, this coral number by Saloni is a must-have.

Animal mania

With many brands ditching animal products or by-products, they’ve found other ways to satisfy their wild side with bold animal prints.

The leopard print has reignited—back and bigger than ever. The 'Naomi' skirt by Realisation Par was even named "the most popular skirt on social media", the trend has no sign of any hesitation. Now, the ever-evolving trend is making headlines in Victoria Beckham’s new collection, as seen with this striking tiger print piece.

Statement stripes

The shirt dress is a timeless choice that offers both sophistication to versatility. This green-and-white striped, deep v-neck midi also gives note to the trending button-up detail, allowing you to stay classy in any heatwave to come.

The earth-toned piece is reminiscent of the iconic '50s flared skirt, providing a fun and flattering summer style solution.

Plaid fever

As street-stylers sweep the streets, we have been counting the recent surge in plaid outfits. From the unforgettable Jean-Paul Gaultier yellow suit in Clueless, to Naomi Campbell’s 1991 London Fashion Week ensemble, plaid has always been in style.

But when SS18 Fashion Week proved to be grunge-filled and Burberry’s signature check made its comeback, plaid has been brought back for good, along with print-mixing. Rosie Assoulin’s eponymous brand makes midway between romantic and practical, and this dress is no exception with its to-die-for pattern and youthful halter-neck detail.
