Ditch millennial pink—blush is cooler than you think

Pink can be a discombobulating colour. Each tone has myriad connotations. Is it millennial? Princessy? Or just a bit fleshy? Yet while it’s a rosey-hued minefield, to pass on pink entirely is to miss out on all sorts of fashion fabulousness. Luckily for all you pink sceptics, salvation is here.

And it’s all sorts of blush. From the Victoriana sheer dresses at Carolina Herrera, to the melange of peachy ’70s styles in satin, suede and leather at Nina Ricci, blush has grown up and become cool.

It was even given a street-friendly makeover by New York label Sies Marjan, who sent Bella Hadid shimmying down the runway in rose-gold-leather cropped flares. And there can’t be anything much less princessy than leather trousers.

Pink never looked as cool as in the form of a fleshy leather wrap dress by the original cool kids behind Proenza Schouler. Pair with a turtleneck and good ol' over the knee boot for a winter-proof look.

Unapologetic girliness with a side of boho is Zimmermann's forte and this oversized blush shearling jacket is no exception. Pair with a maxi skirt and boots and you're guaranteed to want to live in it all winter long.
