Whether you want to be close to the beach or surrounded by lush greenery, a large wedding or a more intimate gathering, there is something for every bride and groom in the new wave of luxury hotels that opened in Bali this year:

1. Capella Ubud

Hotel overview: Designed by renowned architect Bill Bensley, who drew inspiration from European settlers' sense of adventure in the 1800s, Capella Ubud is made up of 22 unique one-bedroom tents nestled in the jungle. Each tent includes a private jacuzzi pool and butler service from a dedicated Capella Personal Assistant.

Wedding bliss: The bride and groom can stay at the two-bedroom lodge that is more than 2,300 sqft and comes with views of the surrounding rainforest and Keliki valley, perfect for soaking in the surroundings before the big day.

Capella Ubud is more suited for smaller weddings, which can be held at the outdoor deck next to the Wos River that borders the property, an atmospheric venue surrounded by trees.

Fun for guests: Before the wedding, guests can go on guided bicycle tours around the area, indulge in a spa treatment at Auriga Wellness, visit the on-site Camp Pura temple and sample Asian barbecue at the Api Jiwa restaurant.

Hotel overview: A wellness retreat may seem like an unusual choice for a wedding but Revivo’s picturesque surroundings provide the perfect romantic atmosphere—from its bougainvillaea-covered walls and lotus ponds, to the vast lawn that can be used for a dinner reception of up to 150 guests and the main swimming pool that can be fitted with a clear platform and used for the ceremony.

The resort is made up of the main building that features eight villas and can be booked out for a wedding, plus two other pavilions that are a short golf cart ride away and each contain 4 villas. Couples have the option to choose the resort’s own wedding menus featuring its delicious spa food or to bring in an outside caterer and, despite the fact that it is a wellness retreat, alcohol is available.

Where wellness meets weddings: Before and after the wedding, guests can also experience some of Revivo’s wellness offerings and pick up some tips for mindfulness to bring back home, whether it’s an aerial yoga class or a relaxing session at the floating salt pool at Remissio Spa.

Hotel overview: The Como Uma Canggu is the perfect option for couples who love to surf. The resort is steps away from a beach with some of the best surf breaks in Bali, and the hotel also embraces the spirit by offering private and group surf classes.

The vibe extends to the 52 rooms and suites featuring a modern, minimalist décor—some with a swimming pool overlooking the ocean—as well as F&B offerings such as a seafood barbeque and fresh juices from the beach bar.

Pre-wedding pamper: Should the bride want some me time before the big day, the Como Shambhala Retreat has a menu of massages, facials and other beauty treatments. And she can do so knowing everything for the wedding is taken care off, as the hotel provides an on-site events coordinator.

An intimate affair: Venues at Como Uma Canggu are more suited for smaller weddings—such as the Como Beach Club bar area that can accommodate up to 60 people, or one of the Como Penthouses that can be customised for more intimate gatherings.
