Alexander Wang has revealed his debut jewellery line
The US designer first showcased the range as part of his Spring/Summer 2016 runway collection, and it is now available on alexanderwang.com and in select flagship stores worldwide.
The collection comprises three pieces -- a necklace, a cuff and an earring, all inspired by industrial bike chains and made from brass-plated palladium. Lock-closure details on the necklace and the cuff are plated in 24-karat gold, lending a luxurious hardware vibe to the pieces, while the four-link earring is also available in plated rose gold.
The jewellery corresponds to Wang's Spring/Summer 2016 collection, which is rooted in a sense of individuality and self-expressiveness, with a focus on DIY.
It isn't the first time the designer has branched out into jewellery -- Wang has previously collaborated with Gaia Repossi and Betony Vernon on pieces, as well as creating a line for Balenciaga when he worked as Creative Director for the brand. However, this is the first jewellery collection uniquely under his own name.
Wang has been a pivotal fashion figure this year, due to his high-profile exit from Balenciaga after just three years. 2015 also marked the 10-year anniversary of his streetwise eponymous label.
The collection will be made available on Net-a-Porter, Joyce HK and Mytheresa.com from March 2016. Prices range from US$295 - US$525.
