With just a few weeks to go until the Baselworld watch and jewelry fair, running March 17-24 in Basel, Switzerland, the Swiss watchmaker has previewed a dark, dignified version of the "Alpiner 4 Manufacture Flyback Chronograph" sports watch, matching technical expertise with original design

The watchmaker packed all this into one new model, the Alpiner 4 Manufacture Flyback Chronograph.

One year down the line, Alpina has revealed an all-black edition of its chronograph, revealing a refined and elegant new side to this sports watch. The dial is protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass and is housed in a 44mm stainless steel case. This is PVD coated in an intense black finish, which extends over the bezel and dial. The dial features appliqué indices in pearly black and luminous beige, matching the luminous beige hour and minute hands.

The Alpiner 4 Manufacture Flyback Chronograph has three subdials, with a 30-minute counter for the chronograph function at 3 o' clock, a date-hand subdial at 6 o' clock and a permanent-seconds feature at 9 o' clock.

The watch uses the AL-760 caliber, a self-winding chronograph movement made in-house with a "flyback" function for resetting and restarting the chronometer at the simple press of a button. This watch also offers hours, minutes, seconds, date and telemeter functions, and has a 38-hour power reserve.

The new Alpiner 4 Manufacture Flyback Chronograph - Full Black edition comes with a black leather strap with beige stitching. It's due out in April priced €4,600.
