Four different themes will make up the exciting lineup of Art HK 2012

ArtHK, the four-day fair from May 17 to 20 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) has just announced that it will host 266 galleries representing 38 countries worldwide under four themes: The Art HK Projects; Galleries Section; Asia One; and Art Futures, with works spanning from installation art pieces to contemporary photographs.

ArtHK Projects is dedicated to presenting large-scale sculpture and installation works by international artists, incorporating 10 showpieces this year. Yuko Hasegawa, chief curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo will be in charge of this section.

The Galleries Section welcomes 182 galleries from 30 different territories, offering outstanding solo and group presentations from around the world including participation by Aando Fine Art from Berlin; Tornabuoni Art from Paris; Sao Paulo’s Casa Triangulo; and Hong Kong’s Amelia Johnson Contemporary.

Going into the up-and-coming art, Asia One will see a collection of contemporary art pieces from 49 galleries, each exhibiting a solo presentation by an artist of Asian origin. The section promises visitors an experience of a diverse view of the Asian art scene.

Lastly, Art Futures will showcase works by emerging artists represented by 35 of the world’s most exciting new galleries. New galleries of up to eight years in age and artists under 35 at the time of application will be participating in this section. One of the must-sees at Art Futures is installation works by Juree Kim presented by Gallery EM from Seoul.
