This time, the belle of Tatler's Before Bed series is former features and lifestyle editor and restaurateur, Jae de Veyra Pickrell. Join Jae as she describes in detail her skincare secrets, hacks, nightmares and tips:
What is your skin type?
Dry and sensitive. I have rosacea too.
Who or what influenced your skincare routine?
Getting sunburnt at the beach in my adolescent years! I learned quite early on that protecting my skin is very important, but my skincare routine stayed relatively basic until my late 20s. I’ve delved much deeper into the science of skincare, products, and treatments only within the last few years.

What is your evening skincare routine?
I cleanse with Bioderma’s Sensibio H2O Micellar Water with reusable cotton pads when I’ve just been at home, or CeraVe’s Renewing SA Cleanser when I’ve been out (I double-cleanse with Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm when I wear foundation).
I then rotate through several base items depending on the night’s vibe, mixed with a dab of 0.1 per cent retinaldehyde from my dermatologist. I just finished my nth bottle of Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Serum—a no-brainer since it’s so easy to apply and absorbs quickly. I’m also working through La Mer’s The Renewal Oil and Fresh’s Black Tea Overnight Firming Mask. La Mer is for pampering nights, and Fresh is for when the epidermis is extra parched. I’m excited to try new things once those are finished, though. Who doesn’t love having a crack at new skincare goods?
