Tatler catches up with Southeast Asia's biggest stars at the Lancôme Skin Science Club

Lancôme Malaysia hosted its Skin Science Club at Sentul Pavilion. The first event of its kind in the region, it was a showcase of the skincare brand's best skincare solutions, its Absolue, Clarifique, Génifique, and Rénergie ranges, the last of which introduces its new Rénergie H.P.N. 300-Peptide Cream. Dr Audrey Gueniche, scientific valorisation for L’Oreal Lux Labs, delivered immersive and educational presentations.

It was also attended by ambassadors and friends of the brand from around the region, including Malaysian singer-songwriter Daiyan Trisha, Vietnamese YouTuber Khánh Vy Trần, Indonesian musician Raisa, Singaporean actor Pierre Png, and Miss Universe Thailand 2021 Anchilee Scott-Kemmis.

This Thai-Australian model, who was crowned Miss Universe Thailand 2021, has two beauty tips she wants to share with Tatler readers: “First, always use sunscreen, and spend the time to find yourself a really, really good moisturiser that works for your skin.”

“When I travel, I always experience drier skin, so I always have to double moisturise—sometimes even triple moisturise—just to make sure my skin gets the hydration it needs!”

The moisturiser she can't live without is Lancôme’s Rénergie H.P.N. 300-Peptide Cream. “I am almost 25, so my skin is about to begin the ageing process, and I need to start the prevention of ageing while allowing my skin to receive everything it needs,” she says.

With 1.79 million subscribers on YouTube and 800,000 followers on Instagram, Khánh Vy Trần has captured hearts with her charismatic personality, becoming one of Vietnam's biggest trendsetters over the last decade. She emphasises the importance of establishing a daily cleansing routine, with thorough removal of make-up.

She follows this step with Advanced Genifique serum. “It is regarded as a god-tier serum because it suits everyone, no matter how old you are or skin type,” she says.

Indonesian music sensation Raisa recommends talking to an expert to understand the science behind skincare, commenting on how much she enjoyed the Lancôme Skin Science Club educational session. “It can take years and years of trial and error to figure out what's best for your skin," she says.

Speaking from personal experience, she adds, "It makes a world of difference to speak to an expert to improve your knowledge and understand what works for you.”

Like Vy, her favourite Lancôme product is the Advanced Genifique serum. “It is my number one; I could never live without it. It just boosts everything and allows me to show my best self.”

You may recognise this 49-year-old Singaporean actor from his on-screen roles as Michael Teo on Crazy Rich Asians or Phua Chu Beng in the long-running sitcom Phua Chu Kang Pte Ltd. In line with Lancôme's philosophy, he advocates for a shift in mindset when it comes to skincare approach: “It's not about how to stop ageing but learning how to age gracefully.”

Daiyan Trisha

“My biggest skincare tip is to tap into what your skin needs, know the problem, and find the exact solution for it,” says Daiyan Trisha, the Malaysian singer-songwriter behind Penat and Cahaya—who is also establishing herself as an actress in the local film industry.

Her skincare routine gives her confidence to take on all her different roles: “In my line of work, I wear make-up every day, so I need to make sure I wash my face before bed, so I wake up refreshed. And I always take time for myself in the morning to feel good for what I have to do for the day.”
