The ‘Dune’ actor is appointed the new beauty ambassador for the French brand’s only men’s fragrance

Timothée Chalamet has become the latest ambassador for Chanel’s fragrance, Bleu de Chanel. The French American actor and the French maison revealed the news on their respective Instagram pages last night (May 15).

The 27-year-old star had teased about the collaboration on his Instagram page the day before as well, with a cryptic post of a Chanel CC logo—and the caption “CC X TC OTW”—to indicate the upcoming news.

Following the announcement on social media, Chalamet shared multiple campaign images on Instagram depicting the mood of Bleu de Chanel—captured by Italian American photographer Mario Sorrenti. Chalamet is seen wearing a neutral t-shirt, a singlet and a denim jacket, while the photos’ classic black-and-white ethos, and blue filters, give a nod to the fragrance’s dark blue bottle.

First launched in 2010 and created by perfumer Jacques Polge, Bleu de Chanel is a woody yet citrusy fragrance with notes of grapefruit, lemon, pink pepper, ginger, vetiver and incense.

Chalamet is among the new crop of young celebrities joining Chanel as brand ambassadors—Minji from K-pop group NewJeans was announced as the global fashion ambassador in February, Jennie from Blackpink and actresses Amandla Stenberg and Margaret Qualley starred in the Coco Crush jewellery campaign in January, while Lily-Rose Depp has featured in Chanel’s fashion and beauty campaigns since 2015.
