The K-pop superstars wore the colourful ensemble in the music video of their mega-hit, "Dynamite"—with the outfits selling for over eight times the original estimate at auction
The pastel-coloured ensemble that Grammy-nominated artists, BTS wore in the music video of their record-breaking song, Dynamite was the star of the recently concluded Julien Auctions' MusiCares Charity Relief Auction—selling for US$162,500, which was over eight times its original estimate.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit MusiCares, a charity providing aid to those working in the industry devastated by Covid-19. The outfits follow-up the microphones that the K-pop septet—RM, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook—previously donated in the same charity auction. The colourful ensemble lighted up the world when the group wore them in the final dance sequences of the music video of their first English-language song, Dynamite, which debuted No.1 on Billboard Hot 100, making BTS the first all-South Korean act to top the Hot 100 and their first song to do so.
Notably, the music video for Dynamite also holds the Guinness World Record for the most-viewed YouTube video in 24 hours. The song also earned BTS' first Grammy nomination in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category—the first Korean group to do so. The collection of outfits went to a Japanese art collector, Yusaku Maezawa and top Japanese YouTuber HIKAKIN.

In the music video, each member wore various colours and brands. Jimin wore a lavender T-shirt with French words embroidered on the front with "Lo Corso Como Seoul" and "Jacquemus" label, a lavender button-down shirt by Areuban, lavender sweat pants by Supreme and multi-coloured high-top Nike Air sneakers. V wore a blue sweater from Solid Homme, a blue sweat pants with "BTS" and "V" label, a blue Kangol cap and a blue Converse All-star sneakers.
Meanwhile, Jungkook wore a blue T-shirt by Beaker, a blue button-down shirt, blue sweat pants that also have a "BTS" label as well as "Jungkook" and blue Paul Smith sneakers. Suga's ensemble is a yellow T-shirt by Carhartt, yellow button-down shirt, a pair of yellow trousers with a "Tauze Saville Row London" label and custom Nike Air Jordan sneakers. On the other hand, J-hope wore two pink polo shirts by Polo Ralph Lauren, a pair of pink shorts and custom Nike Air sneakers—one in blue and one in pink with heart-shaped appliques.
Jin wore a pink T-shirt by Katharine Hamnett, a pink button-down shirt from Levi's, pink trousers, and custom Nike Air sneakers in pastel colours with heart-shaped appliques. Finally, RM wore a yellow T-shirt, shorts, a button-down shirt and Kangol hat and topped it off with Nike Air Jordan PRS sneakers.
Other highlights of the sale include an original painting of Coldplay's Chris Martin by Billy Morrison and a Schecter bass guitar signed by Nikki Sixx. Other artists such as Billie Eilish, Bob Dylan, Lady Gaga and The Foo Fighters also offered items as part of the sale's line-up.
