BTS has finally made their choice: the fashion deal with Louis Vuitton marks the Korean supergroup's first luxury fashion partnership cementing themselves as true fashion kings

Fresh off their collaboration with McDonald's for the BTS Meal, Korean supergroup, BTS have been tapped as the new House ambassadors of French luxury fashion house, Louis Vuitton. The announcement was made on Louis Vuitton's social channels with a photo of the group wearing pastel-coloured Louis Vuitton outfits from the summer 2020 collection.

It has been on their fans and followers' minds as to who will be the first fashion house that the world's biggest group today will partner with. The members have occasionally been spotted wearing different luxury wear from Kim JonesDior Autumn/Winter 2019 collection during their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour to Gucci in Dynamite as well as Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Chanel and Prada on other occasions but have yet to officially team up with a fashion house.

Following their attendance at the unveiling of Virgil Abloh's fall/winter 2021 collection which they subsequently wore at the Grammys 2021 red carpet, donning seven different suits from the collection that marries sportswear and modern tailoring, the septet has now finally set their eyes on Louis Vuitton.

"With multi-platinum singles and albums, as well as a Grammy nomination under their belt, South Korean band BTS are undoubtedly one of the most renowned and influential groups in the world," said the fashion house in a statement.

"In breaking numerous Billboard and Guinness World Records, BTS’s ubiquitous popularity resonates worldwide and Louis Vuitton is very happy to share news of their new role within the House," they add.

Meanwhile, Virgil Abloh, artistic director of Louis Vuitton's menswear collection says, "I am delighted BTS are joining Louis Vuitton today. I am looking forward to this wonderful partnership, which adds a modern chapter to the House, merging luxury and contemporary culture. I can’t wait to share all the very exciting projects we are working on."

"Becoming global brand ambassadors for Louis Vuitton is a truly exciting moment for us. We are excited for our upcoming projects with Virgil Abloh," adds BTS. The partnership is also the first global luxury fashion deal for the award-winning group in addition to their endorsements with Fila, Samsung and Hyundai Motors.

Previously, BTS collaborated with brands that are more accessible to their fans such as Coca-Cola, Casetify, Inkbox, Helinox, Philippines telecommunication brand SMART and Indonesian e-commerce platform, Tokopedia.

Besides being mega pop artists today, this partnership with Louis Vuitton further solidifies BTS as fashion icons in their own right with member Suga earning a spot at Tatler's Asia's Most Stylish 2020 list. First McDonald's, now Louis Vuitton? Everyone just can't get enough of BTS. What's next? We won't be surprised if it's world domination.
