Introducing Bulgari's Octo Finissimo Perpetual Calendar, the slimmest automatic watch with perpetual calendar function

Since 2014, the Octo Finissimo has been the canvas for Bulgari's innovative solutions for ultra-thin watches. It began with a manual-winding tourbillon (which remains the thinnest ever produced) before culminating in the Octo Tourbillon Chronograph Skeleton Automatic, which came out last year and made headlines for being the thinnest watch to boast two complications.

For 2021, Bulgari has mastered the reduction of a perpetual calendar, which is perhaps haute horlogerie's most useful grand complication besides the GMT. This watch's calibre, the BVL 305, is a mere 2.75 mm thick and is composed of 408 parts. It operates retrograde indicators of the day, date, month and leap years, and possesses 60 hours of power reserve. No time adjustment is required until February 2100.

Making it even more compelling is the material this novelty is housed in—in fact, there are two to choose from. The first is Bulgari's signature sandblasted titanium, which has appeared in all previous six record holders achieved by the brand. This year collectors can also choose platinum, which is complemented by a blue dial.
