The second generation of spectacles from the fashion label combines the romance of Hong Kong nostalgia with contemporary appeal

Under the heat of the blazing summer sun, we’re never without a pair of sunglasses – and we’re adding these eclectic Shanghai Tang pieces to our sartorial arsenal, which combine just the right amount of retro glam with contemporary relevance. It’s the second generation of the famed frames by the fashion label that take their inspiration from the olden style of moon-shaped lenses in the Chinese fashion canon, and in this new rendition the glasses have an extra added metal brow line for a modern touch.

The mirrored lenses come in a restrained spectrum of colours, ranging from simple silver to ink blue and gold, and either tortoiseshell or black frames.

It’s a throwback we’re more than happy to try on for size – after all, we’re all for reclaiming a bit of the past for an ever more stylish future.
