The auction taking place later this month will present over 300 pieces of jewellery

On November 26, Christie’s Hong Kong will host its Hong Kong Magnificent Jewels auction presenting over 300 pieces of fine jewellery estimated to fetch a total of about HK$720 million.

The sale is being headlined by three extremely rare Burmese unheated ruby pieces. The pieces include a pigeon’s blood red ruby and diamond necklace, expected to fetch upwards of HK$38 million, ruby and diamond chandelier earrings, estimated at above HK$15 million, and a 13.21 carat oval-shaped ruby and diamond ring, valued at more than HK$38 million.

Although the rubies take center stage, a sensational array of diamonds, coloured stones, natural pearls and jadeite jewellery will also offer up important pieces for keen collectors. A diamond necklace composed of all D-colour brilliant-cut diamonds is expected to achieve more than HK$56 million. A unique pair of natural pearl and diamond earrings named “The Empresses of the Orient” are also expecting upwards of HK$18 million.
