Williams, one of the most influential tastemakers of the 21st century, has started a new chapter at Louis Vuitton. The newly minted men’s creative director showed his debut collection for menswear spring/summer 2024 on the Pont Neuf bridge at Paris Fashion Week. Titled “LoVe,” his much-anticipated show has a focus on the fabrication (Epi leather) the brand is known for with playful experimentation of camouflage and pixelation motifs.

But aside from the clothes, the star-studded guest list is not one to miss. Pop icons Beyonce and Rihanna, social media sensation Kim Kardashian, House ambassador Zendaya, and Korean star Jackson Wang graced the show.

Dior scenography

Dior men’s artistic director Kim Jones truly knows how to create a spectacle that will be shared and re-shared for ages! Conceptualised by Jones and materialised by events company Villa Eugenie, models ascended from the floor in perfect sync. This collection is Jones’ fifth-anniversary show for the label and is an ode to his past predecessors, from Yves Saint Laurent and Gianfranco Ferre to Marc Bohan and Christian Dior himself.

While theatrics and celebrity star power are nice additions, a collection’s main selling point is the fashion. And this is why Loewe is on this list. Where the usual men’s clothing is defined by sharp and crisp lines, Loewe decided to play with silhouettes and fabrications. Seemingly simple pieces such as blazers, coats, banker shirts, and knitted polos—even jeans and chinos—are transformed into couture-like pieces through fabric manipulation and sewing techniques.

Shoes are not typically the centre of attention in any fashion show unless it’s McQueen’s armadillo shoes or the one supermodel Naomi Campbell fell in during Vivienne Westwood’s 1993 show, especially not in a menswear showcase. However, these Comme des Garçons two-in-one shoes are a different story. The surrealist derby shoes were designed with the Japanese footwear brand Kids Love Gaite as a co-collaborator.

Tommy Cash in Crocs at Rick Owens show

MSCHF, the marketing company behind the viral big red boots, strikes again! This season, it’s with musician Tommy Cash wearing a mime costume partnered with bright yellow Crocs shoes. In a sea of dark colours, the bright yellow definitely stood out.

However, this particular Rick Owens show also did not miss a beat. The renowned designer is back to his roots with a monochromatic black and grey collection featuring otherworldly silhouettes.

Last but not the least at men’s fashion week, this season also unveils a new chapter for German luxury house MCM. The 47-year-old leathergoods brand ushers in a new era with its latest spring/summer 2024 collection, which features versatile and imaginative pieces for summer travels, including comfortable and wrinkle-free ready-to-wear clothing, as well as luggage and smaller leathergoods including sports accessories.

Exploring MCM’s storied heritage, the collection highlights the design codes which comprised its renowned visual signature since 1976: the classic Visetos pattern is deconstructed into its iconic Laurel and Diamond motifs, MCM lettering as well as Cognac
colourway.

Launched through a retrospective exhibition, the collection also marks the debut collection by newly appointed creative leads known as “T&K Duo”: Tina Lutz Morris (creative lead) and Katie Chung (creative director); together with the newly appointed president of MCM Global AG Sabine Brunner.
