Classic timepieces are more sought-after, more Instagrammed and more valuable than ever before. With this in mind, following a string of record-breaking sales in Hong Kong, Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo has unveiled highlights from its upcoming evening sale, Phillips & Blackbird: Sports.

Named after three-time Olympic ski champion Jean-Claude Killy, whose still a close friend of Rolex, the “Jean-Claude Killy” 6036 is one of the most impressive models ever created by the maison. At an estimated value of HKD 2 million, the Rolex reference 6240 is set to turn heads at Monday's auction. Taking place on May 27th in Hong Kong at the JW Marriott Hotel, the first-ever watch auction in the world to be curated by an Asian collector, the sale was put together by Blackbird’s founder Mr. TK Mak.

All watches are in excellent condition and boast impressive provenance. Sorted into six different categories–wind, air, snow, tarmac, lawn and water–there is something for everyone, with international collectors swarming to Hong Kong to browse the 82 lots of exceptional sports watches on offer.
