From the revival of 1900’s label Paul Poiret to the next installment of #Yeezyboost by Adidas and Kayne West, we round up the latest happenings in the world of fashion this week

Adidas Originals and Kanye West’s #YeezyBoost hits stores on Aug 22

The third installment of Kanye West’s collaboration with Adidas Originals is set to hit stores globally on August 22. Following the success of the recent release in late June, it’s safe to assume that the all-black knit trainers will be a sure-to-sell hit. With the signature Adidas boost technology and the second-skin knit construction, these shoes are guaranteed to give you an extra spring in your step.

If you’re in Hong Kong, the Adidas website suggests you to try the Central’s D-MOP or Lane Crawford IFC, and if you’re around Causeway Bay- give the Adidas Oringal store on Kingston Road, Juice on Cleveland Road or EXI.T in Hysan One a go.

French house Paul Poiret bought by Korean company Shingsegae International

First came Vionnet and Schiaparelli, then Courrèges and Charles James eventually followed suit- the business of reviving dormant designer labels has become a recent phenomenon. Next in line for a comeback is Paul Poiret- the label that famously freed women from corseted fashions in the 1900’s. Korean company, Shinsegae International, has just purchased the brand’s global trademark rights, and will look to expand the label across several product categories. How will Shinsegae look to develop Poiret’s label in an already-saturated market? Only time will tell.

What to wear now: Bella Freud’s eponymous label

Bella’s surname should garner interest alone- she’s the daughter of artist of Lucian Freud and the great granddaughter of Sigmund Freud. Freud began as a designer in the 1980’s working in British houses such as Vivienne Westwood, Biba and Jaeger before launching her brand in 1990. Today she is most well known for her sweaters with catchy phrases such as, ‘Je t’aime Jane’, ‘Ginsberg is God’ and even a nod to the family with ‘Psychoanalysis’. We have our eye on the knit with ‘The Pop Group’ emblazoned across the chest.
