Golden light

Elegant and pure, the Halo collection circles around the ‘Halo’—the glow behind a star in the sky—created by light colliding with ice crystals that hang, suspended in the galaxy.

With a penchant for silver, Georg Jensen looks to warmer tones this season, allowing Sophie Bille Brahe’s freshness to fall on the silversmith’s much-loved spiral jewellery. The result: a series of hoop-inspired pieces that are layered for soft, continuous circles.

“To me, Halo is also the special glow that a woman can have,” said designer Sophie Bille Brahe, when describing the pieces. “A sort of aura that you can’t really define, which surrounds a woman with an effortless attitude. I wanted to imbue the collection with this sense of refined effortlessness.”

The idea is that each handcrafted piece literally swirls with a touch of lightness, sitting on the cusp of contemporary and elegant as you wear it.

Halo hoops

This collection gleams rather than shines. Like natural halos, the gold jewellery gets its light source from diamond ‘crystals’—much like the stars in the galaxy—with each diamond sitting natural and uncomplicated, almost hidden. The central piece to the 18-karat gold collection is the hoop earring; defined by the fusion of a sculptural circle combined with flat, geometric edges and sharp lines.

Lighting up the 19-piece line are several delicate gold-and-diamond halo, a pavé-diamond bangle to add shimmer to the wrist, and the finest of golden rings, which you can style as a trio.

A favourite piece of Sophie Bille Brahe is the collection’s solitaire ring, designed to display a sense of floating diamonds and permeate the glow of a night sky: the essence of the Dane’s effortless yet brilliant design.

Get a natural glow

Enhancing natural femininity, the Halo pieces bring light (or shade) to any outfit. The hoops can be worn in a pair, or in non-traditional ways such as mix-and-matched, or combined with pieces you already own.

Otherwise, go for a shimmering style and wear the hoop as a single statement earring or ring. With pieces sculpted into differing sizes, you choose just how much glow you want to show.

To celebrate the collaboration and the launch of new collection, Georg Jensen held the Halo launch event at Landmark Prince’s store on August 30, 2018. The venue was decked out with Gypsophila to create the galaxy in the sky, while media guests, jewellery lovers and model Cara G all descended upon the store and set their sights on the brand new collection.
