A true demonstration of design and artistry, 2018's high jewellery collections are a spectacular lineup of masterfully crafted jewels inspired by exotic blooms, animals and landscapes to cosmic displays, beloved fairy tales and luxurious lace
Taiwanese art jeweller Cindy Chao’s Black Label Masterpieces collection represents the pinnacle of the jeweller-cum-sculptor’s opulent creations. And one of the most dazzling pieces in the collection—each of which is named, numbered and dated and takes up to two years to create—is her Peony Brooch, awarded Outstanding Object by the Masterpiece 2018 awards committee.
As strong as steel, dynamic and boldly beautiful yet simultaneously feminine, charming and ethereal, this museum-calibre creation required more than 10,000 hours to complete.
Featuring rubies, diamonds, lacquer, titanium and 18K white and yellow gold, the piece recreates the vivid red bloom and yellow pistils of a flower native to Nootka Island in British Columbia, Canada. Limited to 36 pieces annually, the Black Label Masterpieces collection is a must for the serious connoisseur.
