One of the best parts of the festive season is the winter wonderlands that pop up all around us. From the twinkling tree in Statue Square to Pacific Place's mall-wide festive display, Hong Kong is going all out now that Christmas is just around the corner. Never one to miss a trick, some of our forward-thinking fashion favourites have adorned their windows in the festive spirit – from fairytale fun to cute creatures, we take a luxurious and Christmassy tour of some of Hong Kong’s best designer window displays.

Forget winter wonderlands and Santa Claus — it’s into the dark forest with Little Red Riding Hood and crimson capes for Joyce. Bringing out magic in its own quirky way,  Joyce plays on the folklore and legends of childhoods with a whimsical but edgy fairytale display using key motifs like the signature Snow White apple. The special edition cape collection — with contributing designers from Giambattista Valli, Olympia Le Tan, Erdem and more — is an added bonus, and worth heading into the store for.

Lane Crawford

This heartwarming display of square-headed characters has an old-school dolls and toy soldier atmosphere that's perfect for family shoppers. Celebrating a traditional Christmas, Lane Crawford uses its angular mannequins to promote some of its most recent brand collaborations, including Danny Fang's High5dogs and Anicorn Timepieces. We love this bold and boxy show of Christmas spirit.

Louis Vuitton

Forget penguins, the true festive bird is the puffin  — at least, that's what Louis Vuitton’s Christmas window is telling us. The exposed mechanics create a vintage Santa's workshop vibe as these hard-working little puffins tow their luxurious Louis Vuitton handbags across an icy landscape, bopping along with the turning cogs.

Fendi

Fendi's Hypnoteyes are Furby-like, Gremlinesque window creatures, and we're totally captivated by them. The display continues in store at Canton Road, customers can explore the Hypnoteyes world and two Peekaboo and Dotcom bags inside a giant glittering Christmas ball, beginning from December 9. Next time you pass by the store, check out these quirky creatures on their snowy swings and pop in for a quick Christmas selfie.

The British department store is renowned for its festive campaigns, but this year it's going for something a little different. 'Britalia' celebrates the best of Italy, curated specially by Harvey Nichols for seasonal shoppers. Featuring some of Italy's most famous designer exports, like Versace and Valentino, the store also showcases the best of Italian wine and food for your Christmas table. The vibrant window display uses disco balls and rainbow metallics to create a party atmosphere and epitomises la dolce vita this December.
