The latest high jewellery collection designed by Victoire de Castallane combines couture, jewellery, and architecture paying homage to Dior’s heritage

Last year Victorie de Castellane created the Archi Dior high jewellery collection, inspired by the iconic lines or dresses from Dior’s extensive archives, each piece of jewellery seemed to borrow or adapt the particular movements of fabrics which were translated and interpreted to the language of precious stones.

The late Christian Dior always dreamt of becoming an architect, evident from the impact his collections had on the fashion industry at his eponymous label. Over the years, its become clear that Dior spent his life trying to integrate architectural principles into haute couture – no easy or simple feat by any means. With the cuts of his silhouettes defying gravity, the voluminous pieces that graced the runways – like other great couturiers of his time including Yves Saint Laurent and Azzedine Alaia – showed how he mastered his creations like a sculptor, from ornamentation to lines, curves, and colour.

Including reproducible pieces with bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces that continue the story of dresses turned to jewels – this year’s high jewellery presentation pays homage to a number of iconic collections from the late master of haute couture.
