The photo-filled book is described by co-author Virginie Mouzat as "a rough and magic ride, from the 95 suburbs to the super luxurious Quai Voltaire, a story of fight, love, admiration and resilience"

Nearly two years after Karl Lagerfeld's death in 2019, his longtime bodyguard Sebastien Jondeau will publish Ça va, cher Karl?, a memoir spanning his 20 years working for the legendary fashion designer as security, driver, assistant, and model. Co-authored with fashion journalist Virginie Mouzat, the 272-page book is published by Flammarion and is described as "a photo album, a dive into his life before. From the city to the parades, his daily life with Karl, in shadow as in glory."

The back cover blurb reads (translated from French): "I said goodbye to Karl this morning. Forever. His soul and body are gone. On this chaotic day, a lot of people. Too many people. And then the friends, the real ones, who came to dine here. Tomorrow's program? Almost nothing. I don't want to go to bed. I put everything away, I wash, I clean. I am like that, I like it to be clean, impeccable. Empty the ashtrays, rinse the glasses. I don't drink, hardly ever smoke, but tonight..."

In an Instagram post announcing the memoir's publication, Mouzat wrote she is "very excited and proud to announce the book I wrote for and with Sebastien Jondeau... personal assistant/bodyguard/closer person to Karl Lagerfeld for 20 years. A rough and magic ride, from the 95 suburbs to the super luxurious Quai Voltaire, a story of fight, love, admiration, and resilience."

Lagerfeld passed in February 2019 following health complications. He was believed to be around 85 years old.
