Louis Vuitton Launches The New Wave Collection

Don't be afraid to rock a bit of colour this summer—especially if it's Louis Vuitton's vintage-inspired range of "New Wave" handbags

Whether you claim the era of millennials or the original Eighties, Louis Vuitton’s latest “New Wave” collection has something everyone will love. Inspired by the colourful music movement of the same name, the label’s newest statement piece marries nostalgia with logomania in a playful and unexpected way.

The “New Wave” line draws from a Louis Vuitton trunk that was decorated with a multicoloured graphic which undulated in a wave shape. This detail became the signature quilted design of the vintage-inspired collection, made even more irresistible by the bag’s exceptionally soft, supple lambskin.

Monogram fans will fawn over the rainbow silkscreen motif that spells out “Vuitton” on the bag’s removable handles, a joyful detail that injects a touch of attitude into the collection’s unmistakable youthful cool.

With multi-wear chains, the bag’s functional style make this a fun and seamless companion for day or night. The clutch version could easily become your fave go-to bag: wear it long, short, cross-body, or over the shoulder. The tote format balances Louis Vuitton’s distinctive chic with a bit of that rock spirit. However you wear them, the New Wave bags look effortless in any style.

As if we needed any more details to fall in love with, the collection colours alone could convince a bag fiend to commit. Black and red, with the timeless Louis Vuitton monogram, are poised to become instant classics, ready to debut at your next brunch or soirée. For something brighter and more light-hearted, Smoothie Pink, Malibu Green or Snow add that fun-loving yet luxe look of endless summer to any #OOTD.

With its understated insouciance, the New Wave line will be a highly coveted, standout addition to the House’s timeless pieces. You won’t have to tell us twice, we’ve already got our credit cards out.
