As Nannette De Gaspé launches her eponymous skincare line in Hong Kong this week, we sat down with the pioneer of waterless mask technology to learn the science behind dry masking.
The idea of a ‘dry’ mask may sound counter-intuitive, but in the last two years, French-Canadian entrepreneur Nannette de Gaspé has proven otherwise. Her range of luxurious anti-ageing, waterless masks for the face, hands, décolletage and derriere have gained a cult and celebrity following, which include make-up artist Lisa Eldridge, actress Katie Holmes, and reportedly even Queen Elizabeth II.
Reviews have been extremely positive, with users saying how surprised they are to see their skin look instantly lifted and hydrated, and how easy and comfortable the mask is to wear. And the best part? You can re-use the mask up to five times.
Since the launch of her Youth Revealed and Uplift Revealed collections of waterless masks, de Gaspé has introduced a 95 per cent natural, high-absorption skincare range called The Art of Noir, which includes a cleanser, toner, exfoliator, cleansing cloths, moisturizer, lip balm, and a nifty derma-roller.
Hong Kong Tatler met with de Gaspé, who was in town for the launch of her line, for the low-down on dry masks and what else is in the pipeline:
