1. Zenith

The latest watch from Zenith, the Chronomaster Revival “Shadow,” blends the very best of two vintage models. It’s a revival of a 1970s chronograph that never was, which was proposed by Zenith during the early days of the first automatic chronograph movements. Although some prototypes were made, this retro model wasn’t even allocated a reference number. The new chronograph also comes with the same angular case shape that was designed for Zenith’s original El Primero Ref A384, which debuted in 1969. Shadow’s black case is made from microblasted titanium. Extremely lightweight, wear with a rubber strap.

2. Cartier

First introduced in 1985, Pasha de Cartier’s square-inside-a-circle design was unexpected and quickly became coveted by collectors worldwide. It’s now been enthusiastically revived for 2020. Available in steel or gold, with or without diamonds, the Pasha has long been a favourite on the secondary market and finally comes in new sizes and with new details, including a QuickSwitch system, which allows the wearer to swap the watch’s steel, gold or leather straps with a single push. Although the collection is unisex, the 35 mm models look especially elegant on a woman’s wrist.

3. A Lange & Söhne

A Lange & Söhne’s first dedicated striking watch, the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater, made headlines when it was unveiled in 2015. The wristwatch uses technology that was originally developed for the brand’s awe-inspiring Grand Complication watch. The decimal repeater system chimes out hours, ten-minute increments and then minutes instead of the usual quarter-hours, and this latest model is the third Zeitwerk variation. A navy-blue dial coolly complements silver bridges, white hour and minute discs, and a white gold case. Only 30 pieces will be made worldwide.

Shade and light. Yin and yang,” says the artist. “These colours also make my red lipstick design look even more graphic and magnetic.”
