There are only two pairs of these deadstock Nike Hyperdunks in the world, and one of them belongs to former President Barack Obama. The other, the spare, are in pristine mint condition, kept on ice since they were created in October 2009. They're priced to fetch US$25,000 when they come up for sale at Sotheby's at 4:44 p.m. EST this Friday, 12 February. 

Inspired by the Nike Hyperdunks worn by Team USA at the Beijing Summer Olympic Games in 2008, the Obama Hyperdunks are red, white, and blue and feature the official Presidential Seal on the tongues. The shoes are embroidered with the number "44" (President Obama was the 44th President of the United States); motifs including bald eagles and the year "1776" appear on the insoles.

This pair is Nike's "only confirmation sample" of the sneakers created exclusively for President Obama. Imbued with Nike's Flywire technology—a lightweight, synthetic thread created by the company for performance and maximum support—they are made of leather, cotton, rubber, and plastic.
