The British designer Paul Andrew is making his exit from Salvatore Ferragamo

Paul Andrew, the creative director at Salvatore Ferragamo, is parting ways with the Italian luxury fashion house after five years of exceptional contribution and success. Andrew, who has been the mastermind behind the brand’s most iconic projects, will exit after completing the Pre-Spring 2022 presentation in early May, according to a report in Business of Fashion. No official statement has been made regarding the replacement, nor has the designer announced his upcoming plans.

Andrew has worked at the company since 2016. Started out as the creative director of women’s footwear, Andrew was then promoted to creative director to lead all the fashion categories, including apparel in 2019, who has been praised for rejuvenating Salvatore Ferragmo womenswear and delivering consistently impressive shows over the past few seasons. Prior to joining Ferragamo, Andrew has spent over a decade working with high-profile fashion houses including Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen and Donna Karan, who also ran his eponymous shoe brand, which he launched in 2012 and won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Prize in 2014.

His departure is also accompanied by several major changes on the board of the family-owned brand. The current chairman, Ferrucciio Ferragamo is set to step down from his role and will be replaced by his brother Leonardo. As part of the company shakeup, three independent board members will also be added. Giacomo Ferragamo, who oversees key product development projects and hired Andrew, will return to the board after leaving the company last year as well.
