We get up close and personal with the iconic fashion designer

There are few people cooler than this Nottingham native, who opened his first store at 10 Byard Lane in 1970; he's dressed the likes of David Bowie and Daniel Day-Lewis, brought bright colours and patterns to everyday looks and made suits not only accessible, but desirable, to all.

Today, Sir Paul Smith—who was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000—continues to bring that '70s free spiritedness into his latest collections, including his (unsurprisingly) colourful SS19 collection, which takes a cue from the Ska and two-tone movements of the '70s and '80s that fused Caribbean culture with punk rock.

Smith was recently in Hong Kong to showcase the collection and, of course, we couldn't miss the opportunity to meet the iconic designer and ask him a couple of questions. Cheeky, charming and cheerful, Smith was the perfect gentleman as took on our rapid-fire questions. Check out the video above to find out what "Smithy" does first thing in the morning, his guilty pleasure, the best advice his father has given him and more.
