The stylist who counts Meryl Streep, Lupita Nyong'o and Michelle Dockery as clients shares her red carpet predictions for this year's nominees
In an intimate chat on this week's Tatler Talks, stylist to the stars Micaela Erlanger—whose long and impressive list of clients includes everyone from Meryl Streep to Lupita Nyong'o—shares how she got into the business (Michelle Dockery aka Lady Mary of Downton Abbey was her first ever client!) as well as the fashion emergencies she's had to solve over the years.
Having crafted the iconic red carpet looks of many stars––perhaps most notably the Lupita Rainbow––we ask her how this year of virtual red carpets has been different and what she thinks the talented nominees will wear for the Oscars on April 26.
"I think we'll be seeing people who go all out and want to look fabulous but I think we'll also see people who are just as comfortable in fancy PJs."
Vanessa Kirby, nominated for Pieces Of A Woman
"Her style has evolved quite a bit, she's going for sleek, powerful, minimalist looks this season form the Versace to the Valentino look she did during the Venice Film Festival. Her stylist this season works with a very specific colour palette, it tends to be black, white or red, so I would guess it'd be one of those three colours."
