Four high-achieving Hongkongers tell us what they wear to bring them good luck

Candice Chan

A camel-coloured cashmere jacket. Every time I wear it, things go well. I first realised this when I wore it to a meeting last year while tendering for a design project. After the meeting, the client escorted me to the door and said, “Thank you for the wonderful presentation. By the way, I love your jacket!” A week later, we got the project.

Reina Chau

Evil eye bracelets. Funny things happen when I’m wearing them. I got off a plane once and my bracelet was gone. That same day, the eye of my daughter Chelsea’s bracelet fell out at the beach. They say if you lose the bracelet, it means it has protected you from something life-threatening. If only the eye is lost, it’s warded off an injury.

Dee Poon

My Rolex Day-Date watch with a red face. I bought it for myself about eight years ago and haven’t stopped wearing it since. It’s been with me through good times and bad. I’ve worn it everywhere, from boating to balls. Somehow it’s become an extension of me, helping me keep track of life as the world changes around me.

Feiping Chang

A red Verdink dress by Roland Mouret with a structural, asymmetrical neckline and bustier. I met my boyfriend, Lincoln, while I was wearing this dress at a party in Burma, so that makes it all the more special. I feel instantly confident whenever I put it on and always have fun when I wear it.
