Take inspiration from the street style at Australian Fashion Week 2021 and add a powerful pop of colour to your wardrobes this season with this week's Tatler Haute List

One of the things we love about street style is getting ideas for our own wardrobes, and Australian Fashion Week 2021 was no exception. As one of the first physical fashion weeks back on the schedule, AAFW 2021 brought no small amount of inspiration, especially when it came to forecasting the colours of the season. From fashion’s fresh embrace of pink to acid pops of lime green and bright orange, Sydney’s most fashionable showed us how to bring the bold colours into our outfits. Take notes from the ingenuity of these street style stars, and incorporate these hues into your everyday rotation.

Most people may shy away from lurid lime green, but there’s no better time than the present to try out the eye-catching shade. The key to pulling off it off? Use it sparingly. Ground the citrusy chartreuse with black, which makes the colour pop even more and gives it a dramatic effect, and match your shoes and bags to the hue to make a style statement.

If you want to draw attention to yourself, then there’s no better colour than brilliant orange. The warm, arresting colour is sure to stop traffic (quite literally) and make you stand out from the madding crowd. Here’s how you can rock the colour this season: opt for a head-to-toe look but contrast your accessories—a white bag or dark grey bralette, as seen above—to temper the bold hue.

As longtime fans of Legally Blonde will know, pink is always in—and it’s making a comeback with a vengeance this season. From dreamy pastel to dramatic cerise, the colour was everywhere at Australian Fashion Week 2021. Some of our favourite combinations include pairing it with a ’70s-inspired psychedelic top, or keeping the entire outfit in light and bright—right down to the bag.

If there’s one shade that never goes out of style, it’s a classically cool camel. Build your entire outfit around the chic colour: whether it’s a full suit broken up by a black top (camel and black is one of our favourite combinations) or by styling the colour with complementary tones. It’s the wardrobe classic that’s truly perfect for all seasons.
