The Oscars, arguably the most anticipated red carpet event of the year, is where the power of Hollywood and fashion combine in full force. Who better to showcase this than the leading lady of La La Land herself, Emma Stone? Here are our hopes for Emma's red carpet look this coming Sunday night, pulled straight from the latest runways.

The Lebanese designer is a red-carpet favourite—in fact, Emma's previously worn Elie Saab to the 2015 Oscars—and his latest collection, aptly named The Birth of Light, makes it easy to see why. Known for his embellished designs, this one is a glittery, elegant take on the nude dress. And the perfect accessory? A golden statue, of course.

For a touch of the dramatic, Zuhair Murad's latest collection recreates fireworks with silk thread and embroidered Swarovski crystals. Emma is no stranger to making a statement on the red carpet, often going for feminine and flattering silhouettes. Combined with the contemporary neckline, this would certainly make for a compelling look on the red carpet.

Fun fact: Emma Stone's signature yellow dress in La La Land was inspired by an Atelier Versace gown she wore to the world premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Maybe she'll take another page from the designer's book with this darker but no less striking number, featuring knotted silk chiffon threads and crystallised fishnets inspired by the theme of metamorphosis.

Emma has proved herself a fan of Dior before, and something like this tulle ball gown from Maria Grazi Chiuri's first collection for the brand would be a dreamy yet classy look for the Oscars. Embroidered all over with silk roses, the black to blue degradation could be flawlessly paired with a smoky eye makeup look to make the look her own.

The designers of Marchesa no doubt had the Oscars in mind when they presented their fall/winter ready-to-wear collection at New York Fashion Week earlier this month. This frothy, layered tulle would be a delight to see on the red carpet—it's in keeping with the feminine silhouettes that Emma favours while adding a touch of unexpected theatrics with the ribbons and embroidery.
