Japan is a special place for couple and business partners Victoria Tang-Owen and Christopher Owen. Christopher proposed to Victoria in Kyoto five years ago, and they celebrated their forth wedding anniversary last week with a trip to Tokyo.

While the couple spent time rediscovering the city, they also attended the highly anticipated Pre-Fall 2019 Christian Dior show by Kim Jones. Click through the gallery to see first-hand—through the eyes of Victoria Tang-Owen—the magnificent set, the show-stopping looks to the star-studded afterparty:

First stop on the agenda is the welcome dinner with Dior, and in typical Kim Jones fashion, it’s something that blends art, pop culutre and fashion. We made our way to the famed Robot Restaurant in Shinjuku for a show and a meal.

Guitar-playing samurais, dancing robots, bikini-clad girls with gogo boots dancing on mobile stages—there is no other place quite like this!

Even our little bento boxes at the Robot Restaurant were branded with a Dior logo. I love the thoughtful details!

On to the big day—the backdrop is ready and the show at the Telecom Center Observatory is about to get started. The cherry blossom details around the logo are a great touch to honour the host city.

The front row was a who's who of Tokyo as well as the fashon circuit; spotted amongst the crowd were Kate Moss, A$AP Rocky, David Beckham and Kiko Mizuhara. I managed to get a quick snap with artist Takashi Murakami before we took our seats for the show.

Show's about to begin! Immediately into the venue, you’re taken aback by the giant robot with a female figure by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama at the centre of the runway. Fun fact: the construction of the robot began in mid-September, and it weighs over 9,000kg and is 11 metres in height.

Models walked around the giant sculpture by Sorayama, and the first look to hit the runway is furutistic sweater and trousers combo (complete with silver combat boots). The logo was also designed by Sorayama, especially for Dior. Model Bella Hadid also wore this sweater as a dress for the show.

What I love about Kim Jones is his ability to fuse history with modernity, and this look perfectly encapsulates it. Sorayama's furutistic asetheitc is injected into the accessories (designed by Yoon of Ambush)—the earrings, Space Age sunglasses, as well as the utility belt featuring a mini metallic Saddle Bag are great accents to the shirt and shorts.

The steel hat is the work of milliner Stephen Jones. If you take a closer look, the pattern is actaully the Sorayama female figure in various poses, adorned with cherry blossoms above the iconic 'Dior Oblique' logo.

The show finale was a specatcle in itself—laser lights in bright neon hues take over the space, and now it's time for the afterparty!

Caught up with Bryan Boy after the show, where he wore a trench coat from Kim Jones' first Dior Homme collection from June.

And finally, my date and I at the end of the night. All in all, a fantastic way to celebrate our forth wedding anniversary!
