Hong Kong is celebrating all things arts and culture: from sporting competitions to international DJs, world-class ballet performances to beer festivals, there's something for everyone happening this month.
PGA Tour China
When: October 31 – November 5
Where: Clear Water Bay, Sai Kung
What: This will be the first year the tour leaves mainland China, and it’s Hong Kong debut is sure to be spectacular. Taking place a the stunning course in Clear Water Bay, the PGA Tour China is sure to be an exciting tournement for avid golfers.
Off the Record at Woobar
When: November 3-6
Where: Woobar, W Hong Kong
What: This four-day music and art festival is an entertainment extravaganza, with a mixture of artist, musicians, and DJs performing and showcasing their work. Highlight performers include Rob Prior, an international artist known for his work with Marvel and DC comics, DJ Wordy, and an acoustic set from Oshan and Lucille. Lady of the Camellias
When: November 4-12
Where: Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre
What: Val Caniparoli stunning dance adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s 1848 novel tells a riveting tale of love and duty in 19th century France, and will make its Asian debut this November with the Hong Kong Ballet. Now in its 22nd year, this is not to be missed.
Hong Kong Literary Festival
When: November 4-13
Where: Various
What: From story readings to writing workshops to conversations with international authors, this festival is ten days of intensive literary action. Highlight events include Helen Oyeyemi reading from her new short story collection, What is Not Yours is Not Yours, Lionel Shriver’s author’s conversations, and Omar Musa performing with Hong Kong’s own Peel Street Poets.
Spartan Race
When: November 6
Where: Kam Tin Country Club
The Spartan Race has arrive in Hong Kong: a five mile sprint with over 20 obstacles including mud, fire and ice, it’s sure to be a wild adventure for all involved. You can still sign up here if you think you’re up to the challenge.
Asia Art Archive
When: November 15-18
Where: The James Christie Room, Alexandra House
What: Asia Art Archive is hosting its annual auction, with over 70 works of art generously donated to raise funds to continue their work in promoting and supporting the modern art collective in Asia. The online auction opens from November 7, and the artworks will be open for the public to view November 15-18.
Beertopia
When: November 18-19
Where: Central Harbourfront
What: With over 100 breweries locally and internationally attending this event, there is something for everyone whether you’re a beer fanatic or a cider connoisuer. With live musical performances throughout the day and night, food from many of Hong Kong’s best take aways, and pop-up games like beer pong, it’s sure to be amazing day or night.
Szabotage
When: November 18-20
Where: LKF Tower
What: The legendary graffiti artist is visiting Hong Kong for a short exhbition in the heart of LKF. Displaying some of his finest street art, this contemporary Banksy will blow you away with his bold colour and abstract designs.
Luxarity Pop-Up Launch Party
When: November 25
Where: Lightstage Art & Event Venue
Founded in 2012, the social fashion venture aims to create a more sustainable industry through upcycling, recycling and encouraging emerging socially-conscious designers. Luxarity is launching its three-day pop-up with an exclusive launch party, including a drinks reception, live music, and a chance to peruse Luxarity's carefully-selected pre-loved luxury goods and limited edition up-cycled skirts.
