A vibrant lighting ceremony and cocktail event kicked off the Christmas season on December 5th

Christmas has well and truly arrived at Pacific Place, with the mall decked out in festive decorations to delight both young and old. This year, the winter scenes received a whimsical update in the form of robot elves, reindeer, snowmen and, of course, Santa Claus. To kick off the holiday cheer, a lighting ceremony and cocktail event was held on December 5th, with Moses Chan, Swire Properties executives Elizabeth Kok and Christopher Heywood doing the honours of switching on the lights using special clockwork gears in Garden Court. As well as turning on the festive lights, the trio set off the unique parade of giant gifts along the 60-metre track high above shoppers’ heads.

Garden Court was where the entire event began, but the festivities continued through to Park Court, where the 200 special guests (including Leonard Chao, Candice Chan, James and Jane Louey, Shirley Hiranand and more) were personally escorted to the legendary Santa’s Place. Upon arrival, they were treated to an exhilarating piano ‘duel’ by Andreas Kern and Paul Cibis. Plenty of champagne was poured, and many guests were delighted by the specially designed Santa cake pops circulating around the court.
