We got first dibs on trying out the world’s largest immersive studio promising to take your workout to new heights

In its bid to constantly transform and reinvent the health and fitness landscape, Pure Fitness has launched the world’s first 270° Immersive Fitness studio located in their recently opened Lan Kwai Fong space. Occupying 25,000 square feet of space over six full floors in the newly built California Tower, the new Pure boasts stunning panoramic city views that are far removed from the traditional gym environment.

There has been plenty of hype surrounding the 270° Immersive Fitness studio, and we were invited to trial The Trip, the first in a series of classes to be offered. The revolutionary studio takes you on a futuristic journey through a dynamic workout, where you move in sync with the graphics and music, at the direction of your lively instructor.

Featuring cinema-like quality video on a full 270° floor-to-ceiling screen, The Trip transports you to another world where you could be reliving a moment from Gravity, navigating through a galaxy of stars, or pedalling your heart out through a Tron Legacy-inspired racetrack. The workout got our hearts pumping as we were transported into an alternate world, the graphics transforming as we went from peddling up ridiculously steep inclines to magically cycling on water.

The combination of technology, entertainment, and exercise ensure that time flies as the immersive fitness experience reworks the sense of anticipation and reward, helping to make cardiovascular exercise more engaging and with the aid of being able to visualise the journey of your bike ride as you navigate the parallel universe and reach new personal heights in your training.

We’re not the only ones who love The Trip, a few socialites got a sneak peek earlier this week, too:
