Be it inspired by the pink hues of the Barbie movie or the enduring popularity of K-beauty, 2023 saw the rise of several beauty trends in skincare, make-up and haircare. Luxury beauty buyer’s club Beauty Pie analysed more than 300 different beauty trends of the year and has identified the top ten styles, which racked up the most engagement on social media and were among the most searched for beauty items on Google. 1. Press-on nails
With almost eight billion views on TikTok and generating almost three million Google searches over the past year—according to Beauty Pie—press-on nails are by far the most popular beauty trend of 2023 online—one which has even been seen on celebs like Kim Kardashian. Gone are the days of chunky nails that don’t fit—most beauty shops have sets with thinner, sticker-like faux nails that appear like gel manicure. Some nail artists are also known to offer customised press-on sets, thanks to the rise in popularity of intricate nail art.
