We list the reasons why we love the two-toned shoe from the famed French maison

When it comes to Chanel, we have to be honest and confess that we love practically everything that the French maison introduces season after season, our recent favourite has to be the classic two-tone slingback that Karl Lagerfeld reintroduced in the Autumn Winter 2015 collection. We list three reasons why we absolutley love the two-tone heel that is essential to any chic wardrobe:

It’s Flattering

Coco Chanel described them as being “the height of elegance,” and she should know, considering she made the quilted handbag and tweed jacket a staple in most girls’ wardrobes. The colouring of the two-toned slingback shoe boasts an advantage of lengthening the leg courtesy of the beige colouring while also shortening the foot courtesy of the black toe cap – meaning you look tall and feel fabulous.

It’s Practical

An aspect of Coco Chanel’s style that is often overlooked was her need for anything she put her name on to be practical – part of the reason why she integrated the black toe cap into her design was to protect the tip of the pump from any wear and tear, such as water damage. Chanel knew that the modern woman was always on the move and with the 5cm heel on the slingbacks ensuring you’re comfortable and chic, now you need not worry about scuffing your shoes - Coco was always one step ahead.

It Goes with Everything

Coco Chanel once said, “with four pairs of shoes, I can travel around the world!” Referring to the versatility of her two-tone shoes she knew that with a few subtle colour variations (she played with beige leather and a navy toe cap plus brown leather with a gold toecap), Chanel knew the importance of a great pair of shoes and how they can essentially make or break a look.

So girls if you don’t own a pair already – what are you waiting for?
