Nicolas Ghesquiere’s latest collection continues to push the envelope in his discovery and definition of the new Louis Vuitton ideal

Shot in Barcelona at a sculptor’s home that was built over a lifetime, Louis Vuitton’s latest campaign is a reflection of Nicolas Ghesquiere’s passionate interest in modernist architecture. The creative director at Louis Vuitton continues to build momentum in the third instalment of his Series 3 campaign which features alternate photographic perspectives from industry favourites, Juergen Teller and Bruce Weber.

Featuring Ghesquiere’s new muse, Alicia Vikander, the video sees Swedish actress posing alongside LV favourites including Jennifer Connolly, Liya Kebede, Fernanda Ly, and Angel Rutledge, all shot by Juergen Teller. Comparatively, Weber shot Freja Beha, Rianne von Rampaey, and Julia Merkelbach at an old airfield in his signature black and white film.

Ghesquiere’s diverse selection of women that include established models, actresses and new faces are an indication how he has come to define the new Louis Vuitton ideal, continuing to modernise and develop his own creative stamp at the French maison.

Louis Vuitton’s Autumn Winter 2015 Collection features a rich of palette of dark colours including ash grey, olive green, along with a rich burgundy and the obvious choice of black. The popular petite malle has been reinterpreted in a palette appropriate for the season; Ghesquire continues to experiment with fabrics and textures ranging from delicate lace that is contrasted with a structured shoulder or his leather A-line skirts that will no doubt be a hit.
