There is nothing quite as sincere as personalised gifts. We help you locate the brands that offer custom services in Hong Kong
One of the worst situations in the act of Christmas gift giving is the unfortunate revelation that the receiver already has the gift item. While it’s not the end of the world, it is best avoided and to do so, we suggest you go the extra mile to customise it – so even if there’s a twin in sight, your gift is custom made. Not only will it be one of a kind, it reveals sincerity and thought from the giver. Now, here are some of the brand names we love that have customisation services.
For HK$2700, you can personalise Fiona Kotur’s iconic Margo Faille Minaudiere from Kotur by adding custom initials and one of its emblems, either a star, crown and anchor. Taking around 10 – 14 days from the day of order to final shipment, it is a chic and cute gift for female friends.
Pringle of Scotland
During the festive seasons, Pringle of Scotland is offering complimentary personalised embroidery services to shoppers who purchase its 100% cashmere sweaters. The embroidery is available in a selection of font types in both English and Chinese characters or even in numbers that will be stitched on the chest area or at the front right hem of the cashmere sweater. The process requires five working days from start to finish.
Haute luggage maker, Goyard, at the Peninsula Arcade, provides a series of customisation to it bag and luggage collections. The most popular way of customising (also emblematic of the Goyard brand) would be by adding different letters and characters to the face of the bag. The cost of adding letters would be HK$1,300 for every 6 characters and it will take 6-8 weeks for the orders to be made.
Speaking of personalisation, we cannot miss out luxury brand Louis Vuitton which provides an array of customisation services on various products such as wallets, watches, pen, bags and luggage. For its calf leather wallets, such as the Damier model, customers can receive complimentary stamping services. The process itself takes 3-5 days, with a maximum of three letters that can be stamped inside the wallet to make it a unique piece.
Additionally for its writing instruments and watches, an engraving service is available on the case back of watches and on the pen tips for writing instruments. The time and costs of the personalisation service varies depending on the complexity of the engraving and the product on which it needs to be personalised on. Lastly, customers can also pre-order a handbag from its Speedy, Never Full and Keep All handbag collection, as well as the Pegase luggage models. Colour stripes and letters can be added onto the original design, the whole process will take roughly four to six weeks as the orders are made in Paris. A few models of wallets are also availble for such personalisation as well.
