And there is no shortage of gorgeous looks from Fendi to peruse. From blooming flowers to cheerful colours and abundant sunshine, all the elements of an Italian summer are encapsulated in Fendi Women’s spring/summer 2020 collection. The prints are bright and bold—whether they are stylised flowers in shades of pink and forest green, or oversized gingham squares in honey and dark brown, and matched with whimsical accents such as rope-like belts on the dresses and exaggerated stacked heels on the sandals. A weave pattern, reminiscent of the wicker chairs that are a staple feature of al fresco cafes, shows up on bags and shoes and further hints at the type of summers that inspired this collection.
Highlights from the collection include a shirt dress in the floral print, the ideal dress for weekend brunch or sunset drinks, especially when paired with the iconic Fendi Peekaboo mini bag featuring the weave pattern in pastel pink.
When it comes to the men’s spring/summer 2020 collection, Venturini Fendi took a more muted approach and used earthy tones of green, beige and brown to evoke the great outdoors, but with the special Fendi touch such as silk piping and bold lattice patterns. In addition, film director Luca Guadagnino was invited to be the guest artist for the season and created a special “Botanics for Fendi” pattern for the collection. Each piece strikes a good balance of functional and fun, from the organza shirt covered with foliage motifs in painterly shades of green to the deconstructed slim-fit jacket with silk piping.
