The two began collaborating in 2009, and are now teaming up once again for the launch of +J's Fall/Winter 2020 collection this November

Uniqlo and legendary fashion designer, Jil Sander's partnership began in 2009 with the launch of the collaborative label, +J and lasted until 2011. The collection challenged industry conventions of luxury and accessibility, with the clothes designed by Sanders herself offering customers the chance to get the German designer's minimalist designs for a reasonable price.

Revolving around the concept "Open the Future", the collection aimed to simplify life with straight urban quality pieces, paving the way for new possibilities in clothing. After a decade, Sander and the Japanese brand join forces once again with the relaunch of the +J collection this November.

Keeping the same interests of underlining the individual, the label continues to create attractive uniforms and quiet sophistication while sharing the basic principles of modernity, durability and uncluttered style. Valuing sustainability and a self-sufficient lifestyle, their vision is to connect the global community. The line-up of the Fall/Winter 2020 +J collection features sophisticated essentials for both men and women, inspired by a sense of enlightened understatement and includes versatile, iconic pieces.

"It is with the appreciation and excitement of working with Ms. Jil Sander that I announce the return of the +J collection. A shared respect for modernity and timeless design is evident in our latest collaboration, particularly in sophisticated, everyday essentials that are well-suited to life today," said Tadashi Yanai, chairman, president and CEO of Fast Retailing, which owns Uniqlo.

A total of 32 items, the line flaunts Sander's talent in delivering oversized designs that are still perfectly-fitted as evident in the overcoats and long-line shirts. For the outerwear, a mix of sorts is included from utility-inspired jackets to cashmere coats. The shirts come in minimal colours, from ivory to classic black and white but there are also designs with contrasting colour patterns.

"I set out to define the global modern uniform with this in mind: Clothes should be long-lasting and enduring. They should serve the wearer and give her or him the energy and self-assurance that is so much needed in our global reality," said Sander.

The +J Fall/Winter 2020 collection is available now on Uniqlo's official website. Every customer is entitled to only purchase at most one piece of product with the same item code. The full collection is available at the Lee Theatre, Harbor City, Ruins of St. Paul's Macau and New Town Plaza (from November 14). Selected styles are available in Cityplaza, Telford Plaza, Moko, Mira Place, Metroplaza and Yoho Mall.
